A website for a decentralised science platform that had to satisfy a business school and a first time learner on the same page.
OpenDeSci is a decentralised science platform that turns peer reviewed research into short form fact checked video, plain language paper summaries, quizzes and an AI topic explorer. Wise Media built the website and the product narrative around it, with a partner section built to carry institutional weight and a plain statement that no token has been issued.
The Challenge
Decentralised science carries a credibility tax. The sector is crowded with projects whose first move is a token, which is precisely the thing that makes serious researchers and institutional partners walk away. OpenDeSci has not issued one and says so plainly.
The website therefore had to do two jobs that normally fight each other: look credible enough that a business school and a tier of institutional investors will attach their names to it, and look approachable enough that someone who has never read a paper will watch a video and take a quiz.
