App Development Agency Course
Sell Software, Not Hours.

Most businesses run a process on spreadsheets that should be software. This course hands you the scope documents, tier pricing, sprint workflow and launch checklists Wise Media uses to sell and ship web apps on Next.js, Supabase and Stripe.

  • 7 Modules
  • 6 Checklists
  • 18 Toolkit Files
  • SKILL.md For Your AI

The Toolkit Is The Product.
The Video Explains It.

You are not paying to watch someone describe a process. You get the files Wise Media runs the service on, with video showing how to run them.

The Paid Scope System

The discovery call, the must, should and later sort, and the scope document that turns a vague idea into a price you can defend.

MVP, Scale And Platform, Priced

Three app tiers scoped line by line, with milestone billing and the logic for setting your own price by scope and risk.

Contracts And Change Control

A development agreement, a milestone schedule and a change request form, so new ideas become paid work, not free scope.

The AI Coding Workflow

How Wise Media uses AI coding assistants on client builds, with prompts and a review process that keeps a developer accountable.

The Launch Gate

QA, security and launch checklists for auth, payments, data and devices, run before anything reaches real users.

Sell The Scope Before The Build

The fastest way to lose money on an app is to quote it from one call. The course teaches a paid discovery that maps the process, sorts every feature and produces a written scope. The client gets clarity, and you get a price you can deliver against.

What The Client Actually Buys

Clients do not buy Next.js or a database schema. They buy a process that stops breaking: fewer spreadsheets, fewer missed payments, less copy and paste. You learn to scope, demo and report the work in those terms.

Why The Build Is Only The Start

Every launched app gets new users, new requests and new bugs. The support window, the sprint review and the roadmap call turn one build into years of work, and the upsell ladder moves good clients into automation, SEO and ads.

The Revenue Math.
Three Tiers You Will Sell.

Example math, not a promise: a single app build at the middle tier is a five figure fee, and every launched app needs support and new features afterwards. Two builds a quarter with a support retainer behind each is a real agency. The scope, sprint and launch steps repeat on every project, so they systemise.

MVP

  • Everything from MVP
  • Payment integration
  • API integrations
  • Database architecture
  • Role based dashboards

Platform

$11,000CAD one time

  • App project revenue worksheet
  • Client fit scorecard
02

What You Are Actually Selling

5 lessons ยท 2 deliverables

  • Knowing when to turn a build down

Key Concepts

  • Reuse the boring parts, customise the parts clients see
  • Hire for code review discipline, not raw speed
  • Support retainers are sold at handover, not after the first bug
  • The wrong build can sink a small agency

Deliverables

  • Developer brief and code review checklist
  • Upsell ladder map

The Four Phase Workflow

Phase one scopes the work. Phases two to four repeat for as long as the client stays.

  1. Phase 1

    Discover And Scope

Run a paid discovery, map the process, sort features into must, should and later, and price from a signed scope.

  2. Phase 2

    Design And Build

Wireframes first, then build sprints on the standard stack, with every change tracked against the scope.

  3. Phase 3

    Demo And Sign Off

Show working software at the end of each sprint, get written sign off and log new requests as change orders.

  4. Phase 4

    Ship And Support

Launch through the gate, hand over accounts and docs, then plan the next sprint or the support retainer.

What's Not Included

Scope protection is taught, not hoped for. The course draws these lines for you:

  • App store builds unless scoped separately
  • Features outside the signed scope
  • Hosting, database and API usage bills
  • Data migration from old systems unless quoted
  • Support after the included window ends
  • Legal, privacy or compliance advice

Who This Is For

And who it is not for. Read both before you buy.

Web Agencies Turning Away App Work

Clients ask for portals, dashboards and booking tools. This gives you the scope and pricing to say yes and deliver.

Developers Who Build But Cannot Sell

You can ship the code. This adds the discovery, scope, contracts and pitch that get you paid properly for it.

Studios Stuck On Small Website Fees

App builds carry bigger fees and longer relationships. This is how to add them without betting the agency.

Freelancers Ready For Bigger Projects

You want fewer, larger clients. This shows you how to scope and run multi week builds without scope creep.

People Who Cannot Build Yet

The course teaches the business of app projects. You need to build on a modern JavaScript stack, or have a developer you trust.

Anyone Wanting A No Code Shortcut

This is a coded stack with real databases, auth and payments. It is not a drag and drop app builder course.

18 Toolkit Files.
Checklists That Ship.

Real files exported from the system Wise Media runs, not prose describing them. Use them on your next client.

# App Development Agency Course

This skill packages the App Development Agency Course from Wise Media (wisemedia.io), a Calgary studio founded by Cody Wise. It gives you, the assistant, the operating system behind selling and delivering App Development as an agency service. Course page: https://wisemedia.io/courses/app-development-agency-course/

## How To Use This Skill

- Act as an operator, not a lecturer. Turn every question into a decision, a plan, a checklist or a draft the user can send.
- Follow the four phase workflow below. Never quote or promise work before phase one (the audit or scope) is done.
- Always package work into three tiers. When the user asks for a price, work from their costs, capacity, market and the client's risk, and say which tier fits and why. Do not invent market benchmarks.
- Protect scope. If a request falls under What Is Not Included, say so and turn it into a quoted add on or a separate project.
- Never invent results, testimonials, statistics or client names for the user's marketing. Leave a clearly marked placeholder instead.
- Use the checklists verbatim when the user is at that stage of a job, and tick through them with the user.
- Write client facing copy in plain, direct language. No hype, no jargon the client did not use first.

App Development Agency Course Questions

Straight answers before you enroll.

Quick Answer

How Do You Start An App Development Agency?

Pick one stack and one type of product, such as client portals or internal dashboards. Sell a paid scope before every build, price the build in three tiers from that written scope, and ship in short sprints with a demo each time. Launch as a web app users can install, then move every client onto a support retainer.

  • What to sell first. A paid scope, then the build
  • Tiers to offer. MVP, Scale and Platform
  • First release format. An installable web app

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Price from a written scope, not an hourly guess. The course walks you through MVP, Scale and Platform tiers, shows Wise Media's live prices as a reference, and gives you a worksheet to set your own by scope, risk, timeline and capacity.

Someone on the team has to build and review code on a modern JavaScript stack. That can be you or a developer you contract. The course teaches the selling, scoping, pricing and delivery system around the build, not coding from zero.

The workflow is built on Next.js, Supabase, Stripe and Vercel behind Cloudflare, shipped as installable web apps. The business system works on other stacks, and the course explains why sticking to one stack matters more than which one you pick.

For most business clients an installable web app is the right first release: one codebase, no app store review and updates the moment you ship. Module 2 covers when a client genuinely needs a store release and how to scope it separately.

Every build starts from a signed scope with a must, should and later list. New requests go on a change request form with a price and a timeline. The course includes the scope template, the form and the scripts for saying no without losing the client.

Yes, with a developer accountable for every change. Module 5 covers the AI coding workflow Wise Media uses, what to hand to AI, what to review by hand, and how to keep code another developer can maintain.

Seven modules, built to be worked through alongside client work. Most of the value is in the templates and checklists you start using in week one, not in finishing every video.

The course is in production and sold as a pre-order. Your price is locked when you enroll, and you get access by email the day it opens.

Yes. It is one of the nine courses in the Dev Agency Mastery bundle, and every Creator Club member gets it along with every future course.

Every course also ships as a SKILL.md file: the course knowledge written as instructions for an AI assistant. Load it into Claude as a Skill or a Project, add it to a custom GPT or a ChatGPT Project as a knowledge file, or paste it into any agent that reads markdown. Your assistant then prices, scopes and drafts with the course's tiers, workflow and checklists.
