Website Maintenance Business Course
Turn Launches Into Monthly Revenue.

Every site you launch is a care plan you have not sold yet. This course hands you the packages, the pricing, the monthly checklists and the client scripts Wise Media uses to keep sites safe, fast and billing every month.

  • 7 Modules
  • 6 Checklists
  • 16 Toolkit Files
  • SKILL.md For Your AI

The Toolkit Is The Product.
The Video Explains It.

You are not paying to watch someone describe a process. You get the files Wise Media runs the service on, with video showing how to run them.

The Monthly Care SOP

The exact run sheet for updates, backups, uptime, security scans and the client report, in the order Wise Media runs it every cycle.

Three Packages, Priced

Essential, Growth and Dominate scoped line by line, with the logic for setting your own price by stack and site size.

Contract And Scope Docs

A care plan agreement, a scope sheet and an out of scope rate card, so the plan never turns into free development.

The AI Report Workflow

Prompts and a workflow that turn raw uptime, speed and update logs into a one page client report in minutes.

The Launch Day Pitch

The script and email that attach a care plan to every build at handover, when the client is most likely to say yes.

Sell It At Handover, Not Later

The best moment to sell a care plan is the day the site launches. The client has just paid, the site is fresh, and the risk of leaving it alone is obvious. The course gives you the handover script, the proposal page and the follow up for the ones who wait.

What The Client Actually Buys

Clients do not buy plugin updates. They buy a site that stays up, stays fast, stays secure and has someone accountable for it. You learn to package the work as outcomes with a report that proves it every month.

Why Clients Stay For Years

Care plans churn when they feel invisible. The monthly report, the quarterly review and the small wins log make the value visible, and the upsell ladder moves good clients into SEO, content and rebuild work.

The Revenue Math.
Three Tiers You Will Sell.

Example math, not a promise: one client on a plan of a few hundred dollars a month is thousands a year and five figures over five years, for a few hours of scheduled work each month. Ten of them is a payroll. The work repeats, so it systemises, and that is the whole business.

Essential

$100CAD per month

For anyone who just needs the site protected, fast and maintained.

  • WordPress core and plugin updates
  • Daily offsite backups, restore tested quarterly
  • Site uptime and malware monitoring
  • Monthly performance check against Core Web Vitals
  • 1 hour of website edits a month, does not roll over
Most Chosen

Growth

$250CAD per month

For a business that wants consistent traffic and user growth.

  • Everything from Essential
  • Search Maintenance: 2 SEO blog posts a month
  • Internal linking optimisation
  • Basic on page SEO updates
  • 2 hours of edits a month

Dominate

$750CAD per month

For a business treating the website as a revenue driving asset.

  • Everything from Growth
  • 6 SEO blog posts a month
  • Landing page optimisation
  • Conversion rate updates
  • Up to 5 hours of edits a month

These are Wise Media's live prices for Website Care, shown as the starting point. Module 3 shows you how to set your own for your market and capacity.

The Four Phase Workflow

Phase one scopes the work. Phases two to four repeat for as long as the client stays.

  1. Phase 1

    Audit And Scope

Run the site audit, record the baseline and quote the right tier. Nothing is promised before the audit.

  2. Phase 2

    Onboard

Collect access, take the first full backup, set up uptime and security monitoring, and document the site.

  3. Phase 3

    Run The Monthly Cycle

Updates on staging, backups verified, scans reviewed, small fixes closed, all on one run sheet.

  4. Phase 4

    Report And Review

Send the monthly report, log the wins, and run a quarterly review that sets the next move.

What's Not Included

Scope protection is taught, not hoped for. The course draws these lines for you:

  • New pages, features or redesigns
  • Content writing and SEO campaigns
  • Hosting bills and premium plugin licences
  • Fixing third party services the client controls
  • Emergency work outside the agreed response window
  • Business email, staff accounts and devices: that is a separate cyber security line

Who This Is For

And who it is not for. Read both before you buy.

Web Designers Who Launch And Leave

You build good sites and then never bill the client again. This turns every launch into a monthly line item.

Small Agencies Chasing Stable Cash

Project income is lumpy. A book of care plans pays the base costs before a single new project closes.

Developers Already Doing Free Fixes

If clients already text you when the site breaks, you are doing the job without the plan. Start charging for it.

Freelancers Building A Real Business

You want income that does not depend on landing the next project. This is the most repeatable retainer to start with.

People Who Have Never Built A Site

The course assumes you can build and manage a WordPress or similar site. It teaches the business, not web development.

Anyone Wanting Passive Income

Care plans are recurring, not passive. There is real monthly work, done the same way every time.

16 Toolkit Files.
Checklists That Ship.

Real files exported from the system Wise Media runs, not prose describing them. Use them on your next client.

Sales

  • Care plan proposal page
  • Handover pitch script
  • Win back email sequence
  • Objection handling sheet

Pricing And Contracts

  • Tier and pricing card
  • Care plan agreement
  • Scope and out of scope rate card
  • Price increase email

Delivery

  • Monthly run sheet
  • Incident response SOP
  • Site handbook template
  • Monthly report template

# Website Maintenance Business Course

This skill packages the Website Maintenance Business Course from Wise Media (wisemedia.io), a Calgary studio founded by Cody Wise. It gives you, the assistant, the operating system behind selling and delivering Website Care as an agency service. Course page: https://wisemedia.io/courses/website-maintenance-business-course/

## How To Use This Skill

- Act as an operator, not a lecturer. Turn every question into a decision, a plan, a checklist or a draft the user can send.
- Follow the four phase workflow below. Never quote or promise work before phase one (the audit or scope) is done.
- Always package work into three tiers. When the user asks for a price, work from their costs, capacity, market and the client's risk, and say which tier fits and why. Do not invent market benchmarks.
- Protect scope. If a request falls under What Is Not Included, say so and turn it into a quoted add on or a separate project.
- Never invent results, testimonials, statistics or client names for the user's marketing. Leave a clearly marked placeholder instead.
- Use the checklists verbatim when the user is at that stage of a job, and tick through them with the user.
- Write client facing copy in plain, direct language. No hype, no jargon the client did not use first.

Straight answers before you enroll.

Quick Answer

How Do You Start A Website Maintenance Business?

Start with the sites you already built. Package maintenance into three tiers with clear scope, audit each site before you quote, and pitch the plan at handover. Run the same monthly checklist for every client and send a one page report that shows the work, because visible value is what stops cancellations.

  • Best moment to sell. Launch day, at handover
  • Tiers to offer. Three, with out of scope listed
  • What keeps clients. A monthly report that proves the work

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Price by risk and stack, not hours. A simple brochure site and an ecommerce site carry very different risk. The course walks you through three tiers, shows Wise Media's live prices as a reference, and gives you a worksheet to set your own.

You need to be comfortable managing a WordPress or similar site, running updates and restoring a backup. You do not need to be an advanced developer, and the course shows which work to hand to contractors as you grow.

A backup tool with off site storage, uptime monitoring and a staging environment are required. The course lists optional tools for later and the ones to skip, with what each costs per month at the time of recording.

Seven modules, built to be worked through alongside client work. Most of the value is in the templates and checklists you start using in week one, not in finishing every video.

Yes, with a paid audit first. Module 6 covers takeovers, including how to price the risk of inheriting someone else's code and what to refuse.

The workflow and the business model work on any platform. The checklists are written for WordPress because most care work lives there, with notes on adapting them for other stacks.

The course is in production and sold as a pre-order. Your price is locked when you enroll, and you get access by email the day it opens.

Yes. It is one of the nine courses in the Dev Agency Mastery bundle, and every Creator Club member gets it along with every future course.

Every course also ships as a SKILL.md file: the course knowledge written as instructions for an AI assistant. Load it into Claude as a Skill or a Project, add it to a custom GPT or a ChatGPT Project as a knowledge file, or paste it into any agent that reads markdown. Your assistant then prices, scopes and drafts with the course's tiers, workflow and checklists.
